Description

A two-week internship program for aspiring engineers to immerse themselves in the world of deep tech innovation at the Wadhwani Electronics Lab at IIT Bombay.

 

As one of only 30 selected interns, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge machinery, design and develop a deep tech product, participate in technical discussions, and gain insights into the electronics engineering profession from some of the nation's top engineers.

Dr. Siddharth Tallur

Dr. Tallur is an Associate Professor at Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay and faculty-in-charge of Wadhwani Electronics Lab (WEL) at IIT Bombay. His current research interests include MEMS and photonics, high resolution and low cost physical and biosensors, and high speed instrumentation and embedded systems for sensing applications, most notably for structural health monitoring.

Mahesh Bhaganagare is Senior Technical Superintendent at WEL. He is responsible for development of new hardware platforms and experiments, guidance to Research/ Teaching Assistants, and setting up of new teaching and research labs, classrooms in the department. Mahesh is an IIT Bombay alumnus, having graduated with MTech (Electronic Systems) IIT Bombay.

Program overview: Engineering Funamentals, Hardware exploration, software discovery, integration and debugging, prototyping, capstone build phase, final expo and closing

Engineering Fundamentals

Explore engineering thinking and get an introduction to deep tech embedded systems.

Hardware Exploration

Work with complex hardware tools at WEL, including circuits, soldering irons, microcontrollers, and more.

Software Discovery

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the essential coding principles employed across various software platforms for embedded systems.

Integration and Debugging

Develop your debugging techniques by engaging in practical, hands-on learning with live demonstrations guided by experienced research assistants.

Prototyping

Guided workshops on laser cutting, 3D printing, PCB design.

Capstone Build Phase

Work collaboratively in teams of 5 to design and develop a deep tech product that provides innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Final Expo & Closing

Present your products to an esteemed panel of industrialists and IIT professors.
