Epigenetic Footprints of Pollutant Exposure

This project explores the epigenetic impact of toxic exposure in sewage-worker analog conditions, focusing on DNA methylation changes that disrupt normal gene function. Moving beyond visible infections, it computationally identifies persistent “methylation scars” caused by cumulative pollutant exposure. These epigenetic biomarkers help reveal long-term risks such as cancer and chronic disease, addressing a major research gap and advancing understanding of occupational health hazards at the genetic level.
