Underwater Monocopter

This project focuses on designing and prototyping an Underwater Monocopter, inspired by modern tidal-energy kites such as Minesto. The objective is to create a small-scale system that demonstrates how underwater currents can be harnessed to generate clean and continuous energy. Using Fusion 360, students design a 3D model of the monoopter that can move efficiently through water and mimic the circular motions eliminating the need of complex computation to steer under water. An Arduino microcontroller is used to measure the power generated.
The prototype shows how underwater turbine can convert the kinetic energy of ocean currents into usable electrical power. Since water is almost 800 times denser than air, underwater turbines can produce significantly more energy in a compact design. This project highlights the potential of ocean-current energy as a reliable and sustainable solution for future power generation and demonstrates engineering principles through practical modeling and automation.
